President Sisi issues a order

The official newspaper published today, Tuesday, the decision of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, No. 1 93 of 2016, to issue the law of the union of media.
The first article published in the Official Gazette, in its issue today, included the provisions of the accompanying law relating to the Syndicate of Media.

The second article of the resolution stipulates that the Prime Minister, after the approval of the government, shall issue a decision to form a temporary committee of eleven media experts from the public and private media who shall take the procedures of establishing the media union, Conditions Of membership provided for in the accompanying law.

The committee shall have a chairman, two deputies and a treasurer, and shall be determined by the decision issued by its formation. The members of this interim committee will not be eligible to serve as members of the first media union council.
In accordance with Article 3 of the Resolution, the Foundation Committee referred to in Article 2 shall carry out its duties once a decision has been promulgated, establish a regulation regulating its mode of operation and the procedures of its decisions and temporarily administrator all the work of The Association provided for in the accompaniment law or any other law. The administration of the union, provided that this is done within six months at the latest from the date of its first meeting.

The State shall provide the Committee with a place to carry out its work, provide it with the necessary personnel, and shall appoint it to perform its task in a timely manner.

In Article 4, the Committee of Foundations shall issue an information charter, published in the Gazette and acting temporarily, to be presented at the first meeting of the General Assembly of the Association for approval, amendment or issue of any other period not exceeding one month From the date of the General Assembly.
In Article 5, the Prime Minister shall issue the necessary decisions to establish the union on the proposal of the Founding Committee.

In Article 6, any person who carries out a media activity, as defined in the accompanying law, shall submit to the Foundation Committee a request to be registered in the Syndicate of Media, within three months from the date of implementation of this law.

The complaint shall be submitted to the Board of Directors of the Association within sixty days from the date of its election, in accordance with the provisions and procedures relating to grievance against the decision of the Registration Committee provided for in the accompanying law.
Article 7 The General Assembly of the Association of Journalists shall issue the bylaws of the union on the proposal of the board of directors of the union within a period not exceeding sixty days from the date of its election.
In Article 8, this Law shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force on the day following the date of its publication. This Law shall be stamped with the seal of the State and shall be enforced as one of its laws.
